Memories of owning virgin land

What memories remain of owning land with suckers all over it. For my children who were young when I first started getting interested in cheap land (land that was affordable, never mine about the location/facilities). It was hard to explain to young kids why weeds had to be sprayed, how the Council would demand "do and charge" if noxious weeds were not eradicated on vacant land. Yes, the kids had to walk, reluctantly, over the land and spot weeds that flourished in the low damp areas on an undulating 16 acre block. It was hot, though we all wore hats and shoes and took water to drink. Now, more than forty years later the boys understand more about retirement, cash flow, superannuation, and the long term benefits. It really was not a big deal at all!!
