Verandahs protect from the sun

So many are complaining about the heat. I do not have fans on; buy an old house, add covered verandahs all around (shade cloth can be a cheap alternative), have a high pitched roof, leave 3 or 4m between you and your neighbour, and let the air circulate. It is clear in these pictures the overhang keeps the hot sun from beating on the walls.
