When you retire down the track

This week there was a TV interview talking about the "Australian dream"; I would think everyone's dream is to own their own home sooner rather than later. This interview had emphasis on what it is like to manage on the pension after being retrenched or retired. A photo appeared on the TV screen showing a retired lady in the yard of her de-mountable home that was purchased years ago; it was the only home she could afford at the time. The de-mountable looked neat and cosy with lots of garden and greenery that enhanced the appearance of the home. The final words about this investment "I could not manage on the pension if I did not own this home".
